Gathering new strength, youth just right. On September 14th , 2021 orientation conference and the first class theme education activity of Zhou Enlai School of Government of Nankai University was grandly held . The conference strictly adhered to the requirements of epidemic prevention and control work, and two venues were set up and synchronized through live broadcast.

Zhu Guanglei, Chair professor of Nankai University, Former vice president of Nankai University, Director of the academic committee of the Zhou Enlai School of Government , Wang Hui, Secretary of the Party committee of the School, Sun Tao, Dean of the school, Cheng Tongshun, Zhao Wanli, Zhang Genghui, Vice deans of the school, Guo Daojiu, head of the department of Political Science, Cai Shengxia, head of the department of administration, Wang Cuiwen, head of the department of International Relations , Ma Weihua, Vice head of the department of sociology, Wu Fan, head of the department of social work and social policy, Li Qiang, head of the department of social psychology, and Yang Na, Zhang Failing, Ling Zheng and Feng Lin, instructors of the undergraduate class of 2021. The meeting was chaired by Song Yuan, Deputy secretary of the Party committee and vice dean of the school.
The conference began with the impassioned national anthem “The March of the Volunteers”. Prof. Sun Tao, Dean of the college, introduced the recruitment situation of the 2021 class, summarized the remarkable achievements of the College in recent years in terms of school scale and discipline development, and encouraged the new students to exercise a broad vision, pioneering thinking and open mind, actively respond to the new challenges brought by the new era, attach importance to the application of learning and the unity of knowledge and practice, and strive to become a pillar of talent who can be of great use and can shoulder important responsibilities.
As a representative of teachers, Associate professor Zhang Failin spoke, hoping that students can break the "confusion", get out of "anxiety", refuse to "lie flat", and strive to "further studies, understand the way of the world, and correct oneself".
Haishaer Ainiwaier, a 2019 undergraduate, spoke as a representative of veteran students. Li Zhuolin, a 2021 undergraduate and Huang Yazhuo, a 2021 doctoral student, spoke as a representative of freshmen. They called on all students to aspire to a new era, to take on a new mission, to show a new outlook, and to fulfill their vow of "Rest assured that the powerful country has me"!
After the orientation meeting, Professor Zhu Guanglei gave a lecture on "New Era, New Liberal Arts, New Platform, New Requirements" to 2021 freshmen, taking them to review the glorious history of Nankai and pointing out the requirements of the times for the young students of today, encouraging them to maintain a modest and cautious learning attitude, conduct in-depth investigation and research, cultivate innovative thinking, and actively contribute to the development of the "New Liberal Arts"; firmly believe, forge ahead, and achieve "New Action" on the "New Platform" of Nankai University and Zhou Enlai School of Government.
