In order to further study, publicize and implement the spirit of the20th CPC National Congress, and explore the practice and theory of urban governance and political development based on Chinese experience and times concern , on November 12, 2022, Department of Political Science, Tsinghua University and the Zhou Enlai School of Government, Nankai University, jointly organized the first annual academic forum on "Urban Governance and Political Development". More than one hundred guests and scholars gathered on the online platform to discuss the road of urban governance and political development research. The whole forum consists of five parts: opening ceremony, forum keynote speech, main forum opening ceremony, forum keynote speech, main forum speech, sub-forum and concluding speech.
It was reported that this forum was hosted by Political Science of Tsinghua University and Zhou Enlai School of Government of Nankai University, and organized by the Data Governance Research Center of Tsinghua University and the Chinese Government Development Joint Research Center of Nankai University. Nankai University set up an offline sub-venue. Since the announcement of solicit articles was published in May 2022, the forum had received 91 submissions, 37 of which had been shortlisted, and 33 universities and research institutes had participated in the solicit articles . On November 12, the day of the forum, the highest peak of the agenda in the morning was 300 participants in the meeting and 50 participants in the waiting room. In the afternoon, three parallel sessions had a heated discussion, more than 200 people participated in the forum, and a total of more than 600 people participated in the sub-forum and the conclusion of the conference. In addition to the academic institutions, some practical institutions also participated the meeting , which reflects the attractiveness of the topic setting. The two universities will take this annual academic forum as an opportunity to further deepen cooperation in the research field of "urban governance and political development".
